Semester Course: Learning in Informal Contexts (EMS 594)

In-depth class in the best practices for teaching science in informal spaces (i.e., outside of school). Final project developed, implemented, and evaluated the success of a hands-on educational cart focused on the biology of “puffer fish” according to current pedagogic best-practices. Cart was used as an engagement tool with visitors at the North Carolina State Museum of Natural History.
